Inclement
Weather and Practices
For
the most part, coaches wait to make a decision on whether to cancel
practices until just before practice would begin.
“This is Maine, wait 5 minutes and the weather will
change”. Unless you receive a call
from a coach, or other instructions from a coach, practice should be
considered to be ON. Coaches will
meet parents in the parking lot if practice plans change and calls were
not able to be made in time. They
may direct you to a different site (indoors) for practice, or depending
on conditions, may ask you to wait for a short time.
In the event of lightning, coaches will ALWAYS move
players to safety. Rain and snow
though are conditions that football will usually continue during, so
plan to bring plastic bags to protect your car seats for the ride home
whenever the weather is wet!
Flag Football First Practice
Flag football (grades
1/2/3) practices will begin on Monday, September 13.
Practice for this first night will be from 5:30 to
7:00pm. Future practice dates/times for the teams will be
announced at the parent meeting on this date.
Flag Cheering First Practice
Flag cheering (grades
1/2/3) practices will begin on Monday, September 13.
Practice for this first night will be from 5:30 to
7:00pm. Future practice dates/times for the teams will be
announced at the parent meeting on this date.
Parking at the practice field
As we get more and more teams practicing at the Recreation Field, it is
time to be thinking about maximizing parking and optimizing traffic flow through
the parking area. Below is a rough diagram of how we suggest everyone utilize the available parking area.
Please remember that the road leading up to the gate into the feld must
be kept clear for emergency vehicles. There are several
handicapped parking spaces that may be used by properly marked
handicapped vehicles, but no other vehicles should be parked in this
area.
